THe Adoration of Jenna Fox (Book 1)By: Mary E. Pearson
Genres: Dystopian, Mystery, and Sci-fi For Ages: 12-16 When Jenna Fox wakes up from a coma, her parents tell her that she was in a terrible accident. They show her pictures and family videos - none of which Jenna remember. She is starting to notice that everyone is hiding something from her. But what really happened in that accident? And why does Jenna get the feeling that she wasn't supposed to have survived? I found that in this book, the style of the author is very unique, making Jenna's feelings almost tangible. That helps us to understand even more deeply what she is going through and how she feels, and without that element, this book would not make sense. I found that the author was also very descriptive, but not to the point where it was boring. My one complaint was that there weren't enough clues to help the reader figure out what the answer to the mystery was. This futuristic book is perfect for a long rainy day. I would rate this book: A Great Read 4 Stars * * * * |
