Eon (Book 1)By: Alison Goodman
Genres: Adventure, Fantasy, and Magic For Ages: 12 - 14 Since he was bought out of slavery by a wealthy master, all Eon has trained for is to be chosen as the next Dragoneye, a powerful warrior who gains their power from the dragon that chooses them to bond with. However, this task is made difficult for him because of his malformed hip, adn because Eon has a secret: he is actually a sixteen year old girl named Eona. Getting chosen as the Dragoneye will mean keeping Eona hidden within him, but when her identity threatens to come to light, Eon must choose whether to stay true to himself and risk the ultimate punishment or stay hidden and become poweful beyond his wildest dreams. I personally found this book a little hard to focus on, as my mind kept wandering. I think the author could have been more descriptive as to the characters' emotions, so that the reader would feel as if they were the characters. Other than that, the plot was well formulated and suspenseful, and the characters very well developed. If you need a book for a book report "Eon" would allow you to take many different interesting and thoughtful perspectives to write upon. I would rate this book: A Good Read 4 Stars: * * * * |
