a little princessBy: Frances Hodgson Burnett
Genres: Classics and Books - Movies For Ages: All ages When Sara Crewe's father sends her away from the only life she's ever known in India to the boarding school of bitter headmistress Miss Minchin, she tries to make the best of things with her smarts and the aid of her father's great wealth. But when some unfortunate events occur, leaving her impoverished and at the mercy of Miss Minchin, she is moved from her lavish rooms to the dank attic, where she must work hard labour in order to stay. Will clever Sara manage to turn her life around, or is she forever doomed at the hands of cruel Miss Minchin? A Little Princess was a fantastic read; though sad at times it kept you enthralled and captivated. We liked how Sara always remained positive and resourceful even in hard times. It was very encouraging to read about how she deals with her struggles and uses her courage and talents to overcome anything. This is a book that you will read again and again. I would rate this book: Must Read 5 Stars * * * * * "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!" |
